Whether you are looking to try something new & daring, or you just want a bit of a refresher, I got you covered! Check out these fabulous runway looks that are Simple & Elegant and Bold & Beautiful! Mermaid Waves Good news for lazy girls; spring's biggest trend is laid-back, fuss-free mermaid waves. The more randomly placed and tousled the better! Channel Daryl Hannah in Splash and create easy-peasy texture by plaiting damp hair before bed
Low Ponytail Banish bad hair days by mastering the fashion ponytail for SS14. Super slick and secured low at the nape of the neck, finish with a spritz of high gloss hairspray for a chic look. Long & straight Achieve spring/summer '14's long and straight looks by blow-drying locks rather than straightening hair. Always opt for a centre parting for that model off-duty vibe. Bobs The biggest haircut of 2013, the bob, is set to take 2014 by storm. Spotted on runways across the four fashion capitals for spring/summer '14, this season's bobs come in all shapes and sizes, from slick and smooth to choppy and textured. Short Cuts Forget long, flowing locks for SS14; why not mix it up with a fashion-forward short crop? Try a side-swept long pixie cut, a punk-inspired undercut or a barely-there close crop. The Shag BFA Model of the Year 2013 Edie Campbell's Shag is iconic enough to start a trend. Are you brave enough? Side slicked up-dos To the right, to the right; this season's side-swept up-do opts for a deep side parting starting at the left temple and sweeping across to the right ear. Either choose a super-slick wet-look up-do or leave a few strands loose for a softer look. Our hair expert Errol Douglas MBE says: "On the right face shape (oval) and a personality ready to rock it, I love this current take on gamine! Tip: Add a hydrating product to wet hair and mix with a medium hold gel, the two will ensure hold without that crispiness." & Side slicked down-dos Mid-length cuts Growing out a bob or just fancy a change from super long lengths? Try one of these easy-to-maintain mid-length cuts. They require minimal styling and also work in most up-dos, too. Accessorise SS14 is the season to get creative with your hair accessories. From floral garlands (we're planning our festival looks already) to pretty headbands and scarves, make a bad hair day into a good one by adding something special. Up-dos Spring's up-dos are ultra relaxed, with strands left loose for a soft, feminine feel and volume at the roots to frame the face. Fringes Make a statement with your fringe this year - whether it's with Fendi's bowl cut full flavour fringe or Marc Jacobs' bleached cropped style. If you prefer a softer cut, a long fringe worn parted is a great way to frame your face. Braidy Bunch One of our absolute favourite styles of SS14, the side swept, flyaway braid will look great on absolutely everyone. Spiffing Quiffs Never shy and always high; the quiff is back for SS14. This season's offerings are side-swept and textured - add waves and curls for maximum impact. Wet look This season's wet look styles are actually wearable. Yes, seriously! Dip your toe in the trend by adding a high shine serum to locks before styling, or go all-out with a slicked back finish. Pink is back! Do you already feel like a blushing bride? Carry that sweet love over to your color scheme, says Tara Guérard, the event designer behind ultra-luxe Soirée in Charleston and New York. "It’s the nudes, the blushes, the peaches — not Pepto Bismol pink!" she announces. The return to romance ushers in a new love for the formality of days gone by. Think white-gloved waiters and big band dancing, crystal candlesticks and gold-rimmed china. One major bridal inspiration for the return to tradition comes from Hollywood. "It’s the look of ‘The Great Gatsby,’" says Beth Helmsetter of Beth Helmsetter Events in Los Angeles. Her brides are still falling hard for the bubbly, approachable elegance of the Roaring Twenties. Lush, soft, Exquisitely romantic — the flower of the year is the many-petaled tree peony, says New York’s Ariella Chezar, whose work has been seen at the White House. Amber Gustafson of Los Angeles’s Amber Events picks a similar bloom — the sweet-smelling garden rose. Want to know what flowers are in season for your wedding? Pattern is making a new play, but throw out the hard-edged looks. “Chevron was big last year,” says Tara, “but now I’m seeing trellis-patterns, bold stripes and florals.” Adorable little freehand illustrations will adorn invitations everywhere this year. Melinda Morris of Lion In the Sun, a paperie boutique in Brooklyn, New York, tells us that these invites are completely custom, so if you can dream it, an artist can help you bring your vision to life. And in the sweetest trend of all, invitations this year are getting small. The most requested look is for an invitation smaller than the standard 5x7 — something little, dainty and infinitely precious. The past couple of weeks we have been chop, chop, chopping hair at our clients request. Long bohemian chic is on it's way out, and shortie-short cut's & bob's are here again! These are the celeb-styles being requested at Salon Zahra in the past couple of weeks! The Layred Bob. Complete this look with some tousled waves to give you that sexy "just rolled out of bed" look. The Longer In Front Bob With a deep side part and Ombre effect you can get that "rocker worthy" style that everyone is pining after this spring. Side-swept & Short The fearless Michelle Williams shows off her cheek-bone grazing fringe with finesse in this Louis Vuitton campaign. The Twiggy With more deep side parting and an undeniable sleekness, this style is perfect for a night out. Aaaand the style that will never go away...
